“God is not a belief to which you give your assent. God becomes a reality whom you know intimately, meet everyday, one whose strength becomes your strength, whose love, your love. Live this life of the presence of God long enough and when someone asks you, “Do you believe there is a God?” you may find yourself answering, “No, I do not believe there is a God. I know there is a God.” ~Ernest Boyer, Jr. (Thanks, Ann)

He will

The LORD your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing."

Zephaniah 3:17

We are quietly desperate here - begging God to rescue our Papa and puzzling over how we go on rejoicing in sweet things like little girls turning 5 years old and little boys learning to read and babies nearly ready to be born.

The same God who is mighty to save, whose rescue-plan began long before our struggles, is completely present with us now. We see His presence and feel His presence - because when bad news comes, Peter hums the tune to "all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord" and Ruby weeps so sweetly in such a dear cuddling, clinging, hold-me-close way that it only could comfort her Grandma and Isaac makes battle drawings, one after another: see the white cells are destroying all the bad sick ones, Mom!
