“God is not a belief to which you give your assent. God becomes a reality whom you know intimately, meet everyday, one whose strength becomes your strength, whose love, your love. Live this life of the presence of God long enough and when someone asks you, “Do you believe there is a God?” you may find yourself answering, “No, I do not believe there is a God. I know there is a God.” ~Ernest Boyer, Jr. (Thanks, Ann)

Sarah Palin fan club

I'm a fan. Tracy leaves the shouting message on my ans. machine "Palin for President! Palin for President!" Good job, Tracy - my kids now know why we will vote for McCain/Palin. Isaac said, "because Obama is the bad guy - like the enemy." Oh no. Well, it's not like that, sweetie. It's that we believe in some things.

  • If I could sit on our couch, healthy and strong, and just sit there, but expect to get money and food and care, is that a good plan? No. So we won't vote for Obama.
  • Obama doesn't have experiences to lead a city, a state or a country. So we won't vote for Obama.
  • Obama doesn't believe that every person God creates is on purpose -
  • Obama chooses people to be his friends who make bad choices and who do not tell the truth to our country.
  • John McCain is a hero - he was captured by "the bad guys" - they took him home with him and he didn't give up there - he was hurt horribly and he didn't give up. He's a hero - like you will be heroes.
  • John McCain chose a mommy to help him be president (followed by the big "what is a vice president" conversation including how RVP in Arbonne figures in there!)

"Mommy, does John McCain love Jesus, because I think he needs to love Jesus if he is a president." (Isaac) Well, I don't know if he does - but he mostly acts like he does - but I don't know.

"But Mommy, if Obama could come to Christ, then would we vote for him?" (Peter) Well, until he showed us that he loved Jesus and decided to obey Him and we could see him making good choices, no.

My kids don't care much about this Sarah Palin mommy - except finding it cool that she'd hunt Moose - we know about Moose, you know, from Maine. But I'm excited. Heck, I might have to even go door-to-door.

Peter wanted to know more about getting "pay" for sitting on the couch - I asked him, "if you have to choose between sitting on the couch with a snack and going every day to work, which would you pick?" And he said - "oh well, I would just work" I'm thinking - what!?! "you would? because that's the right thing to do?" "Yes, mommy, because I just like to work" Goodness. I think I made my point - I know Peter made his. We do what's right because it's right.

Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
