About a year ago, on another drive to town, I explained to Peter about "eat the crust first". It's a concept I probably learned a long time ago, but my Arbonne business has driven the point home. If I want something different than what I've had, I have to DO something different. To get extra-ordinary results, be extra-ordinary. If you want to enjoy the pie, eat the crust first.
So today I say, "the only thing left for you to do is practice piano and do handwriting. How about you practice piano while I take a shower - then we'll all go outside. You can do handwriting later."
He groans. He says, "that's like eating the cheese first!"
What?!?! Cheese? NOOO - it's a pie, not a cheese sandwich! Wrong metaphor!! Oh, guess it still works - that would be 7-yr-old-boy vs. sweets-loving-Momma.
So, he's doing his handwriting. What a wonder of a boy. Hmm, wonder what I should do first.
Jeremiah 6:16 This is what the LORD says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls."
“God is not a belief to which you give your assent. God becomes a reality whom you know intimately, meet everyday, one whose strength becomes your strength, whose love, your love. Live this life of the presence of God long enough and when someone asks you, “Do you believe there is a God?” you may find yourself answering, “No, I do not believe there is a God. I know there is a God.” ~Ernest Boyer, Jr. (Thanks, Ann)
