“God is not a belief to which you give your assent. God becomes a reality whom you know intimately, meet everyday, one whose strength becomes your strength, whose love, your love. Live this life of the presence of God long enough and when someone asks you, “Do you believe there is a God?” you may find yourself answering, “No, I do not believe there is a God. I know there is a God.” ~Ernest Boyer, Jr. (Thanks, Ann)

Tell Two Friends

Certainly feeling inspired by this post on a blog I frequent called Radical Womanhood. I am a bit of a radical, you know. You should be, too.

So, go to that link, read her blog, but more importantly: click on the link to the True Woman Manifesto and read this radical, wonderful document so you can click here to sign it. Doesn't that feel good. I know that's a lot of clicking, but did you print it? I printed it. I need stuff like this (and my list of prayer requests for Pres-elect Obama) tucked right into that prayer journal. How else will this weak flesh remind my willing spirit to get busy?

I had a bad day today. Too much scurrying around, couldn't find my focus, distracting even my kids from their imagining (Isaac and Ruby played in the snow before breakfast, then back outside to gather supplies to creat swamps in an empty clear juice bottle, Peter wowed them with an erupting Olympus Mons - that's Mars - in the kitchen). Bad. It all started with sleeping through my alarm again and having a "quiet time" with my precious children. Not ideal. It's hard to have your mind renewed with so many small children chattering. Enough complaining, the point is, when you are a wimp and don't do the good you know you ought to do, there are consequences. Hope you enjoyed the manifesto as much as I.
